Vogue September 1982: Layout Two

My mom had quite a few magazine subscriptions as I was growing up. I do not remember a time when there weren't magazines in the house. Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar were the most thrilling when they arrived in the mailbox. And then, the most sad after they had been read in their entirety and tossed in the trash.

It wasn't until I found my mom's pile of magazines with "KEEP" written on the covers that I realized three things:
1. My mom kept magazines hidden in her closet.
2. Older magazines were even more beautiful than current issues.
3. I would begin saving magazines also.

In that pile of glossies I found the Vogue September 1982 issue I am currently posting from my Magazine Library. Vogue reran The Last Sitting featuring Marilyn Monroe photographed by Bert Stern. It was the 20th anniversary of both Monroe's death and Stern's original meeting with her for Vogue in 1962. I am lucky to have this issue. It is an amazing shoot. Enjoy.
