Joan of Arc and Chanel by Przemek Sobocki ->

Four ltd. London and Tokyo Collections

After browsing thru the current issue of 125 Magazine, I clicked over to the extensive contributors list and was dazzled by Przemek Sobocki's images in issue 5. I headed over to Sobocki's site to loose myself in his drawings...let's see, it was about an hour and a half....Soon after I came to and focused, I realized Sobocki collaborates with Japanese label Four ltd. I must find a way to get a tee!

Mirror, Mirror

Vogue March 2003, Photographed by Craig McDean

F-Troupe @ Creatures of Comfort

2003 was the year Miuccia Prada's mirrored sandals were etched into my memory. F-Troupe's 2008 version is as close as I might get to taking a time machine back to '03.

Window Shopping

Getting my hands on one of the Piet Paris Saks shopping bags was my mission while window shopping this past Easter Sunday. I was convinced I would need to buy something, and it would have to be the least expensive item Saks stocked. I certainly didn't need another Kiehl's lipgloss, so I tried my luck with the concierge. It worked. He was sincerely excited to witness someone giddy over a bag instead of what went inside. He gave me a tote size shopper and I repaid him with more info on the illustrator and renaissance man Piet Paris. It doesn't take a whole lot to make me smile!

On My Mind

Using paper remnants from Issey Miyake's Pleats Please fabrics, design firm Nendo created the "cabbage chair". By peeling one layer at a time you will fashion the most glamorous piece of D.I.Y. furniture in your home.

Over the Loudspeaker

Takashi Murakami will be hitting The Brooklyn Museum April 4th. The online shop posted a few items available the exhibit's opening day. Possibly more to be added???

Color Way

Red and turquoise joining forces for Spring 2008. Designers and streetwear, including Supreme x Kermit x Terry Richardson take advantage of the hottest color way of the spectrum.

Jalouse USA March 2001

Issue: Premiere Issue Jalouse USA March 2001
Model: Anouck Lepere
Editorial Photographs: Greg Kadel
Editorial Stylist: Stefan Cambell

Corporations have a habit of cutting short the lives of fresh and promising ideas. Television is notorious for canceling popular shows such as Freaks & Geeks, Arrested Development and My So Called Life. The print world is just as guilty. In Fashion, Model, Pop Life and Sassy are some of my favorite magazines cut too early. Jalouse USA has to be the magazine I miss the most. The premiere issue from March 2001 is possibly my favorite magazine issue ever. It wasn't an easy mag to find consistently, which made the hunt intoxicating. I only secured 6 issues from the year of it's existence, and still search for back issues today.
Each editorial was spectacular in the premiere issue, but I love the high designer S&M theme of "The Studio." Bottega Veneta leather halters, La Crasia gloves, Helmet Lang boas, and Wolford tights complement the dresses and pieces from Jean Paul Gaultier, Tom Ford for YSL, and Nicolas Ghesquiere's 4th season for Balenciaga.

Who What Wear Daily featured Rihanna looking phenomenal in Sonia Rykiel. I love how simple she keeps the details and relies on shape and color even down to her toenails.

Gold Medal

When you least expect it, situations fall into place without effort, and you walk out of the Adidas Originals store with kix you have been lusting after for three days. What a good feeling!

Better Late Then Never

I have to laugh when I discover something and think to myself...."where have I been?" I just picked up Print Magazine for the first time this past weekend. The Stina Persson cover peeking between magazines caught my attention. It wasn't til after I was hooked, and bookmarked the website I realized the design culture magazine has existed since 1940.

Satine ->

Dusica Dusica

Browsing through the new arrivals @ Satine I noticed the shoes worn with a new Future Classics dress. The laces mirror sneakers and the open-front shout summer. Fortunately Satine carried the shoes also, and I headed over to the Dusica Dusica site. Cream leather or black satin? I love these dilemmas.
