Lowkey Freshness 3.0

There are those moments while catching up with google reader, tumblr, twitter, the fashion spot, and a pile of magazines I need to step away.
And collect my thoughts.
Recognize my own opinions on fashion and style.
Because it is easy, not to forget, but alter my viewpoint after seeing so many others.
And after a 5 min break, I flip to a page to reminding me what it is I have always believed since the 5th grade: this world is all about style.

I love Elle UK for believing in the same idea.
Even better, the magazine's Style for Less segment expresses that statement in pictures.
Taking key trends and pieces from the previous pages of fashion spreads and presenting them bare-boned and effortless.
Just like how you would wear them.

Stylist Spotlight: Kate Phelan TwISteD w/ Celine

Don't take this as a surprise.
But our love for Phoebe Philo has been brewing for some time.
Stylists all during the 90s built the foundation for Philo's superbly timed take-over of Celine.
None more then Kate Phelan.  It's eerie.
She was sneaking around the pages of British Vogue creating the desire for minimal, luxurious, and practical clothing.  Even after the 90s were long gone, we didn't stop craving these pieces.
And then came Philo.
From day one with Celine she showed us we can still be modern wearing those same pieces.
It borders along the sureal.
Phelan knew we wanted to wear it then and Philo knows we want to wear it now.

(Note the killer Miu Miu bodybag on the right.  I will not rest till I find this.)

Stylist Spotlight: Kate Phelan British Vogue March 2004

Going on a road trip this weekend.
It won't be on a bike, but I will be missing The L.A.T.E Ride this Saturday.
So I will just enjoy Phelan's glamorous indoor bicyclist this weekend.

Stylist Spotlight: Kate Phelan British Vogue September 2006

Congratulations, Miss Kate!  Who, I heard, just got married.
Now for the party, or festival in Kate's case.
I can only imagine how cool the wedding celebration will turn out.
Probably as cool as this editorial concocted by Phelan and Craig McDean.  The duo expose Kate as their muse for a stupid-hot, head-banging, fetish-queen character.  A role she most likely will be taking with her right into married life, and then some.
Cheers!
